Classical accordionist Amadej Herzog was born in Slovenia, former Yugoslavia. After completing his BMus at the University of Pula in Croatia, under the tuition of Slavko Magdic and Borut Zagoranski, he continued postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied with renowned Professor Owen Murray. In 2010 the Academy awarded him with an honorary DipRAM- the highest performance award conferred by the Royal Academy of Music.

Amadej is a first prize-winner at several international music competitions including Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and Germany. He was supported by Ministry of Culture, Republic of Slovenia and he received the Diploma of Dr. Roman Klasinc for the special achievements in the Slovenian culture. In 2007 he was honoured by University of Pula in Croatia with a diploma for artistic efforts and outstanding contribution to the promotion of the classical accordion in the university. Amadej is a recipient of the Harold Craxton Memorial Trust, the Larry Adler Scholarship Fund and the Ethel Kennedy Jacobs Fund Award.

Amadej is also 1st prize winner of the prestigious R.A.M. Club Prize 2010 at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2010 he was honoured by the Royal Academy of Music with the Regency Award for notable achievement.

Amadej has given many recitals internationally, most notably in United Kingdom, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece, Italy, Germany and Belgium. He has also participated in masterclasses with Friedrich Lips, Matti Rantanen, Elsbeth Moser, Claudio Jacomucci, Alexander Sklyarov, Peter Soave, Yury Shiskin, James Crabb, Jean Marc Fabiano, Paolo Picchio and Denis Modrusan.

Amadej has taken part in several festivals including Leeds International Festival (UK), the Histria Festival (Croatia), the DAM Festival (Kosovo), Festival Maribor (Slovenia), Musical Tribune (Croatia), Remusica (Kosovo), amongst others.

He has premiered works by Mario Ferraro and Sebastian Rapacki. In 2009 he performed with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev.

Amadej has also collaborated with the Fugata Quintet, London Sinfonietta, the Azalea Ensemble, Stjepan Hauser (2cellos) and Fabricio Mattos (guitar).
